Ability Office Version 4 - Upgrade Rules to Version 4
The upgrade options apply to any user of previous versions of Ability Office software - Ability Office 98, 2000 and 2002,
Ability for Windows and any DOS version. There are also upgrade options for individual applications.
The latest Version 4 can read files from all previous versions (see below) and has many new and improved features.
Important Notes
All Ability Office downloads via our website are first 10-day trial versions - so you should download and install before
purchasing your upgrade. In all cases, a Product Key will be emailed to you as confirmation of your purchase. Please keep this
email and follow the instructions for entering the product key.
Purchase upgrade
Before you purchase, you must register first, or if you are a registered user on the Ability-USA site,
you should log in above left. Your registration will be matched with your earlier registration on Ability.com for confirmation of your
qualification to allow an upgrade version to be purchased.

File Compatibility with previous versions
Ability Office 4 can be installed on the same PC with an existing Ability Office 98, 2000 or 2002 installation.
Also the trial version can also be removed without affecting an existing installation.
The file format has not changed for Write, Spreadsheet and Photopaint, so these files are generally interchangeable
between all the versions. There are a few exceptions:
- If you create a spreadsheet in Ability Office 4 with more than one worksheet, only the first sheet will be visible
if the file is opened in Ability Office 98.
- Ability Office 98 - 2002 will not open an Ability Office 2002 spreadsheets containing a chart.
- Ability Office 98 - 2002 cannot open Ability Office 4 write files containing images.
- Ability Office 98 - 2002 cannot open Ability Office 4 write files containing images.
Ability Office 4 can import files from all earlier DOS versions of Ability and Ability Plus.
